She joined Uzun + Case in 1999 and was named a Principal in 2018. Her project experience includes higher education, institutional, public use, commercial, and mixed use developments. She likes the challenge of unusual and complicated projects such as the Georgia and Mississippi aquariums, Kennesaw State Recreation Center and Parcel A at 760 Ralph McGill Blvd. Presentation Summary This presentation starts with a basic introduction to the Georgia Tech Campus Center program. The presentation will then briefly cover the newly constructed buildings and their features. The presentation will then focus on the retrofitting of the late 1960’s existing concrete framed building. For the last 20 years he has been concentrating on the concrete repair and restoration landscape, working with concrete, repair mortars, epoxy and polyurethane injection, FRP (carbon, glass) strengthening, post-tension repairs (Level 2 Certified), shotcrete, waterproofing, and cathodic protection. He has over 30 years of experience in structural engineering, with a deep focus on historic preservation. He has worked on projects across the east coast and Caribbean, including projects from the 17th and 18th centuries. He is currently adjunct faculty in the Clemson University Grade Program in Historic Preservation, and has been published multiple times, including in Structure Magazine. Presentation Summary Structural work for historic preservation always involves unusual tasks. In this presentation, Craig Bennett shows examples of repair work on 100-year-old concrete, 175-year-old brick masonry, and 200-year-old tabby.
