Bio
Craig Bennett, Jr., PE, SE, RP-APT is the founder and president of Bennett Preservation Engineering PC in Charleston. He has over 30 years of experience in structural engineering, with a deep focus on historic preservation. He has worked on projects across the east coast and Caribbean, including projects from the 17th and 18th centuries. He is currently adjunct faculty in the Clemson University Grade Program in Historic Preservation, and has been published multiple times, including in Structure Magazine.
Presentation Summary
Structural work for historic preservation always involves unusual tasks. In this presentation, Craig Bennett shows examples of repair work on 100-year-old concrete, 175-year-old brick masonry, and 200-year-old tabby. The talk is profusely illustrated with photographs from the work.
