President - Georgia Chapter of ICRI
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I’d like to start by wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! I can’t say I have ever been this happy to put a year in the rearview mirror, and I am excited and cautiously optimistic to see what 2021 will bring.
I've been honored and privileged to serve as the Georgia ICRI chapter President 2020 and look forward to continuing to serve our Georgia chapter in 2021. The year 2020 proved to be more difficult to predict than expected in terms of both our industry and our personal lives. Many hard decisions were made this year in regards to our local chapter operations as a result of COVID-19 concerns. We were not able to provide the in-person luncheons you have come to expect and our signature golf tournament had to be moved several times before its eventual cancellation. Despite these many setbacks I have been inspired by our board's commitment to push forward in 2021 with a revised approach. We believe we can operate in a health-conscious manner to further our mission of providing an educational resource to help improve the overall quality of concrete repair, protection, and strengthening.
Our organization and the lives of many of our members may have been damaged as a result of the pandemic, but as we all know when you are empowered with knowledge and take thoughtful care any damage can be repaired and made to be stronger than it was before. I look forward to your continued support through these challenging times and wish only the best health, safety, and prosperity for you and your families in 2021. Stay tuned for more announcements concerning our upcoming event schedule and changes for 2021.
During his time a president, the goals for this organization will be as follows:
- Provide a reliable source of Concrete Repair Education during this "Virtual" reality we are currently living in.
- Boost membership benefits
- Add resources to our website for CEU's
- Provide a full calendar of Events in January of the new year
- Boost Engineering support for this industry
- Continue to find interesting and education topics for luncheon
