    Brian J. Wolfe, PE

    Principal Engineer/Petrographer

Testing, Engineering, and Consulting Services, Inc. (TEC Services, Inc.)

Brian Wolfe, PE is a Principal Engineer and Concrete Petrographer with TEC Services.  Born and raised in northern Illinois, Mr. Wolfe is a tortured Chicago Bears fan and a graduate from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.  Mr. Wolfe's 17 year career in the engineering field has included structural evaluations, repair design, nondestructive evaluation, forensic engineering, materials testing, chemical analysis interpretation, and petrographic evaluations of concrete.  Mr. Wolfe's specialty experience of petrographic evaluation has encountered many projects in which concrete fire damage was in question.

Topic: Evaluation and Repair of Fire Damaged Concrete Structures

Concrete has substantial fire resistant properties.  As such, it is often difficult to visually assess if a fire has compromised the concrete or caused enough damage to warrant removal and replacement.  This presentation will focus on the industry standard field and laboratory techniques typically employed to evaluate concrete fire damage and the methods typically used to restore the concrete.
