DESCRIPTION:Presentation Title\nCommon Stucco Problems and Repairs\n\nPresented By\nLee Cope\, P.E.\nDirector of Restoration\nSouthern Wall Systems\n\nPresentation Synopsis\n\nDiscuss common problems associated with stucco and sources of distress. The presentation will also discuss common repairs for each source of distress.\n\nBiography \n\nMr. Cope is a licensed Professional Engineer who has extensive experience in detailing and proper installation of portland cement plaster (stucco) and Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS) facade systems\, air barriers\, window systems\, waterproofing\, and the interfaces of various envelope components.  From May of 1999 to March of 2018 Mr. Cope worked at Wiss\, Janney\, Elstner where he evaluated a variety of structures relating to water intrusion and to the cause and/or distress of a building’s exterior facade/curtain wall systems and building envelope/structural systems. Since March of 2018\, Mr. Cope has led the Restoration Division of Southern Wall Systems (SWS) where he has overseen the Preconstruction and Operations of all their Restoration Work. Since then\, SWS has completed over $100 Million worth of Restoration Work. A detailed look into the different types of retrofit anchoring systems available to stabilize existing masonry and stone facades. \nKelly Morris (Anchoring Product Specialist @Prosoco)\nKelly Morris\, Product Specialist for PROSOCO’s Anchoring Systems\, has more than 12 years of experience working in the masonry anchoring industry. She began her career with her family’s business\, formerly known as Construction Tie Products (CTP) and is now part of the PROSOCO team\, which acquired CTP in June of 2019. Kelly fills a critical role within PROSOCO’s Anchoring Systems Group as a Technical Product Specialist\, educating architects\, engineers\, building owners and contractors on the benefits of new construction and retrofit anchoring. Kelly graduated from Purdue University and has been involved in the marketing\, training\, and product development of anchoring systems for multiple organizations. Cuadra\, PE\, SE\, FACI\, FPTI \nBio: \n\nMartin is a founding principal of Uzun + Case\, LLC with 40 years of experience in structural design and contract administration of various building types. His passion since starting his professional career has been focused on concrete post-tensioned structures.  He is registered in Georgia and 17 other States\, he is a past president of the ACI-Georgia Chapter\, a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute\, as well as a fellow of the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI).\nHe has been very active in the industry\, and it is a current voting member of many committees including the newly formed ACI Building Code 320\, as well as ACI 318-T.  In addition\, he is a voting member of PTI Building Design Committee\, BIM committee\, and member of the PTI Technical Advisory Board.   He is also a voting member of the Prestress Concrete Institute (PCI) Design Handbook.\nIn 2012\, Martin was awarded the Engineer of the Year in Private Practice award by the Georgia Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies.\n\nPresentation Title: \nA POST-TENSIONING PRIMER with some advanced applications and the future of POST-TENSIONING \nPresentation Synopsis: \n\nThis presentation starts with a basic introduction to What is Post-Tensioning\, the materials involved creating the tendons as well as the fabrication process to get tendons ready for the jobsite.\nThe presentation will then focus on the basic reasons as to why use post-tensioning in structural design of concrete projects\, what are the advantages of incorporating unbonded tendons into our design.\nIt will also touch on site installation on post-tensioning and a few pitfalls that should be avoided and/or properly addressed prior to pouring concrete.  A couple of slides addressing construction issues and repairs will be shown.\nThe program will wrap-up with a brief description of current research of banded-banded systems including new ACI codes that are being developed which should be available in 2025.
