ICRI – What’s In It For Me?

Members and non-members often ask about the benefits of membership in ICRI – “What’s in it for me?”    ICRI VP, Mark LeMay, will provide some answers to this vexing question based upon his personnel experiences since joining ICRI in 2005.  The topic will be approached from two perspectives – ICRI involvement at the local Chapter level and also at the National level.  From networking opportunities to standard-in-the-industry guidelines, to certification programs, to editable guideline specifications to on-line webinars – come and see what ICRI has to offer you to help you elevate your company above your competition, and take your career to the next level!

Mark LeMay, AIA, Principal
JQ Engineering

Mark LeMay, AIA is a Principal with the multi-disciplined engineering firm of JQ Engineering, and leads JQ’s Facility Performance team out the firm’s Fort Worth office. During his nine years at JQ, Mark has been responsible for the documentation and evaluation of numerous existing structures prior to the development of construction documents for projects involving the repair, renovation, restoration or alteration of those structures.   His projects have ranged from historic houses to parking garages to multi-story buildings to stadiums such as the Cotton Bowl.
Prior to joining Jaster-Quintanilla, Mark gained more than 15 years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, working closely with structural engineers to evaluate problems with concrete structures, and to develop cost-effective solutions for their repair.
A 1977 graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s Architecture program, Mark obtained his license to practice architecture in 1982.  He is an active member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the AIA, having served on their Golf and Continuing Education committees, and chairs the Chapter’s annual Sporting Clay Event.
Mark has been a member of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) since 2005.  He served as President of the North Texas Chapter of ICRI in 2009, and continues to be involved as Chair of the Chapter’s Nomination Committee, as well as serving on the Chapter’s Special Events and the Finance and Legal Committees.  On the National level, Mark previously chaired ICRI’s Chapters Committee and continues to serve on the Finance and Publications committees.  His involvement in ICRI’s Coatings and Waterproofing Technical Committee help to spearhead the publishing of one of ICRI’s newest Technical Guideline 710.2 “Guide for the Waterproofing of Horizontal Traffic Surfaces.”
Mark served four years as the Region 7 Chapter Representative on ICRI’s Board of Directors before joining ICRI’s Executive Committee in 2016 where he served as Secretary for the past two years.  This year, he is serving as ICRI’s Vice President, and continues to be heavily involved with updating ICRI’s Policy Manual.
